What’s up with Palm?
It’s the Treo Mobile Comedy Film Festival. The event is being held to observe the up-and-coming art form of made-for-mobile films.
Film entries to the festival must of course be playable on a Treo cell phone. It would not be necessary that the film is created by the Treo, however.
Organizers have set 3 categories for the entries:
Animation – animated shorts of any topic that should be comedic
This mobile life – The subjects should be about mobile romance, mobile manners, or anything that touches on the lighter side of life. Hey! Don’t get too serious!
The Retake – this is about the Parodies of films, TV shows, or commercials.
And how about the prizes?
Well the top will get the chance to win a trip to Los Angeles for the awarding ceremony. The grand prized winner will bring home the $5,000 and a filmmaking toolkit (this is mobile)
Each category winners will get $2,000 and many more add-on prizes.
There are no prohibitions. Anybody can participate. They can create and edit the films they have made by using any equipment or software.
